Samsara is a Tibetan word that means "the ever turning wheel of life". It's also the name of a movie I just had the pleasure to watch. The director Ron Fricke and co-writer/producer Mark Magidson attempts to explore the meaning of this word by an extraordinary journey around the world. Shot in 25 countries for over 5 years on 70mm film, using no other language but the images, (no narrator, no text) creating real poetry and leaving space for a very personal and strong interpretation. We get to explore the incredibile beauty of the landscapes of our planet, but also the real ugliness of human nature...

I've found some interesting books in my library, they've been there for years, maybe more for beauty than content. The title of one of the older one's, dated 1839 reads "Litterature for the people, giving advice of anything from being a parent, being rich or poor to how to grow potatoes! August Strindberg, national pride, is not missing, as a curious book by the chinese author Lin Yutang, The importance of living. Might just read that one...
