meeting

SONY DSC

It's always great (and a bit nervous)  to have old and new friends meet. Will the French girl hit it off with the Swedish farmer? At times the perfect tennis friend is maybe not the perfect person to go to a fashion show with, or to the antique market..? It's great to surround yourself with all sorts of carachters,  different personalities, people speaking another language coming from a different culture, with interesting styles and tastes. Someting good always comes out of it...

Hooked

SONY DSC

With our bags packed we got on the plane, just in time to reach Sweden in order to celebrate  the evening of Midsummer in the company of old friends and lots of kids. Great outdoor dinner with all kinds of herrings, shrimps, beer and snaps (aquavit), bbq, Swedish strawberries, icecream, coffe and lots of singing and cheering all night long! The villa took the Swedish doctor Axel Munthe 20 years to complete, his life's masterpiece, and his soul is still there like a breeze blowing softly in between the columns. Walking through the immaculate garden you can sense his...

out on town

Going back home to Italy after an amazing stay. My luggage is filled with emotions, encounters, laughter and impressions, at not the least, our lungs filled with fresh air..! The other night going to the center with the bus (yes I practically only use public transportation when I'm here)a woman came up giving me a compliment for my shoes, such a nice and simple way to make a person happy. We should all do more of that!! At the restaurant I thought everybody stared at me in a funny way until I realized that my seat was right under the menu board..hehe...

Gilda

A coffee, sure an Italian espresso is great, but in Stockholm a "latte" is the thing, big cup, lots of milk.. even together with a sandwich.. yep, we sure are strange.. At Gilda, Nytorget, you'll find a cosy and warm atmosphere, lots of sandwiches, sweets and cakes, fresh juices and why not, a lemonade to cool off.. Great also for people watching and some relaxing chitchat. ...
